Taste of OBJ {Caribbean Jerk Chicken}

This week we actually ate at Orange Blossom TWICE! Score! Last night was date night and we sure got spoiled! The special soup was....get ready for it.... Chilled Strawberry Soup! It's AWESOME! You just can't imagine how different this is! It's topped with a scoop of watermelon salsa sorbet. You almost like you're having dessert for an appetizer when this is your soup course! The special salad was an Asparagus and Smoked Turkey Salad with Red Pepper Dressing! Talk about flavorful! The smokey turkey salad adds SO much to this salad! The asparagus even tasted smoked {I don't know if they are or not}! They were delicious!!

This is the main course: Caribbean Jerk Chicken with Grilled Pineapple over Sweet Potato Polenta! The chicken has the spicy jerk rub and a side of a super spicy concoction. Oh! It also has sauteed kale! I was so surprised with the kale! It was so good with the flavors he added to it! And it helps that I know how good kale is for you!

My husband's quote on this dish was "Mmm! He hit the nail on the head!" Ha ha.

We both ordered specials last night so that's why I'm able to show you BOTH the special soup and salad AND both special desserts! We each had one! ;)

This first dessert is a Warm Plum Tart with Bourbon Vanilla Ice Cream! My hubby was ALL over this! We had it a few weeks ago and when he heard our server {shout out to Houston! haha} say this one was tonight he was so excited! The mix of the tartness of the plums and the mellow creaminess of the ice cream are just perfect!

I had this one Wednesday night thanks to a generous and fun-loving chef! It's a Coffee Tart with Cheesecake Ice Cream! AND it's covered in hot fudge! I just LOVE the coffee flavor in desserts, and, mix that with homemade cheesecake ice cream?! Couldn't get any better than that!
